Usage Limits

Curl Budget applies usage limits to ensure reliable performance and fair resource usage across all subscribers. These limits are generous and designed to accommodate the vast majority of personal and household finance needs.

These limits are subject to change as we work to ensure balanced and sustainable usage for all users. If they don't work for your situation, reach out to us. We'd love to understand your use case and how we can better support you.

Bank Connections

Each workspace supports up to 15 bank connections through Plaid. A single bank connection can include multiple accounts (e.g., checking, savings, and credit card from the same bank), so 15 connections typically covers far more than 15 accounts.

If you reach the limit:

  • You'll see an error when trying to add a new bank connection
  • Disconnect an unused bank to free up a slot
  • Manual accounts and Apple accounts do not count toward this limit

Workspaces

Each user can create up to 5 workspaces. Workspaces you're a member of (but don't own) do not count toward your limit.

Transactions

Each user can store up to 1,000,000 transactions across all workspaces. This limit is well beyond what most users will encounter, even with years of transaction history.

Receipts

Each workspace supports:

  • Up to 10,000 receipts
  • Up to 1 GB of total receipt storage

You'll receive a warning when approaching 80% of your receipt limit.

If You Hit a Limit

When you reach a limit, the app will display a clear error message explaining which limit was reached. You won't lose any existing data. To continue:

  • Bank connections - Disconnect an unused bank
  • Workspaces - Delete or leave a workspace you no longer need
  • Transactions - Contact support if you genuinely need more capacity
  • Receipts - Delete old receipts or contact support
