Connecting Apple Accounts
Prerequisites
- Apple ID with Apple financial services
- Device signed into iCloud
- Two-factor authentication enabled
Step by Step
- Tap "Add Account" in Curl Budget
- Select "Apple Accounts"
- Authenticate with your Apple ID
- Complete two-factor authentication if prompted
- Select which Apple accounts to connect
- Accounts appear in Curl Budget
Authentication
The connection uses your Apple ID:
- Sign in directly with Apple
- Two-factor authentication required
- No credentials stored by Curl Budget
- Secure Apple authentication flow
How Sync Works
Transaction Sync
Apple account transactions sync automatically:
- When you open Curl Budget
- Periodically in the background
- When new transactions occur
Data Available
For each transaction:
- Amount
- Date and time
- Merchant name
- Transaction description
- Daily Cash rewards (Apple Card)
Balance Updates
Account balances update with each sync:
- Current balance
- Available credit (Apple Card)
- Interest earned (Apple Savings)

Managing Apple Connections
Viewing Connection Status

Refreshing Connection
To manually refresh:
- Pull down on the transaction list
- Or tap "Refresh" in account settings
- Data updates within moments
Re-authentication
If authentication expires:
- You'll see a notification
- Tap to re-authenticate with Apple ID
- Complete two-factor authentication
- Sync resumes
Disconnecting
To disconnect Apple accounts:
- Tap the Apple account
- Tap "Disconnect Account"
- Choose to keep or delete history
- Confirm disconnection
Family Sharing
If you use Apple Family Sharing:
Family Organizer
As the family organizer:
- All family Apple accounts are visible
- Can track family spending (with permission)
- Manage family financial visibility
Family Members
As a family member:
- Your accounts connect to your Curl Budget
- Purchase history from family sharing visible
- Privacy respects Apple's family sharing rules
Troubleshooting
Connection Failed
If Apple connection fails:
- Verify you're signed into iCloud
- Check that two-factor authentication is enabled
- Try signing out and back into your Apple ID
- Ensure Apple services are online
Transactions Not Syncing
If transactions aren't appearing:
- Check if transactions appear in the Wallet app
- Pull down to force sync
- Verify account is still connected
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
Balance Discrepancy
If balances don't match:
- Force a sync
- Check timingβmay be slight delay
- Compare to Wallet app balance
- Pending transactions may differ
Authentication Issues
If you can't authenticate:
- Verify Apple ID is correct
- Complete two-factor authentication
